The College of Electronic and Information Engineering CEIE at Tongji University is a leading academic institution that boasts five specialized departments, including Electrical Engineering Department, Electronic Science and Technology Department, Information and Communication Engineering Department, Control Science and Engineering Department, Computer Science and Technology Department. Furthermore, it includes three research centers: the CAD Research Center, the CIMS Research Center, and the Experimental Education Center.

CEIE is renowned for its comprehensive scope of academic disciplines, which include four primary fields at the first level - Electrical Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, Control Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Technology. These are supported by two second-level interdisciplinary doctoral programs: Microelectronic Science and Engineering, Intelligence Science and Technology, both recognized as Shangh Peak Disciplines.

The College offers a robust undergraduate curriculum with ten majors that span computer science and electronic information fields. Notably, the Automation and Computer Science and Technology majors were distinguished as part of the National First-class Undergraduate Development Sites in 2020 under the 'Double Ten Thousand Plan'. The College is home to a vibrant community of educators with over 243 faculty members. A strong emphasis on talent acquisition has propelled the development of its high- academic teams through strategic recruitment both domestically and internationally since 2015. This includes one member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, sixteen national or provincialministerial-level talents recognized by various government programs, as well as eleven distinguished international experts.

CEIE currently hosts approximately 1,550 undergraduate students, along with 1,005 postgraduate candidates and 426 doctoral students. Furthermore, there are plans to admit around 463 prospective students from the freshmen cohort of 2019 next year. The College is characterized by its internationally-focused management system complemented by a comprehensive education framework.

Global Collaborations

CEIE has renewed international partnerships with esteemed Italian universities such as Politecnico di Milano, Politecnico di Torino and the University of Bologna through joint bachelor's degree programs DDP in Electronic Information Engineering and Automation, strengthening its commitment to international talent development. The College also expanded master's DDPs including ICT TeleTong with the University of Bologna, Telecommunication with the Technical University of Munich, Microelectronics Science and Technology with the Polytechnic University of Madrid, and Computer Science Education with Telecom Paris from the Paris Institute of Technology.

Recognition and Achievements

Over the past five years, CEIE has made remarkable strides in its academic excellence. The College received one second prize for National Teaching Achievement Award, a grand prize, first prize, and second prize awards for Shangh Teaching Achievement Award, and two first prizes for MOE Science and Technology Progress Award. Notably, it secured prestigious accolades such as the Wu WenjunScience and Technology Awards.

In terms of research capabilities, CEIE has developed numerous state-of-the-art scientific platforms including the Shangh Network Information Service Engineering Technology Research Center and the Shangh E-Commerce and Information Service Collaborative Innovation Center. The faculty contributes to academic discourse with high-quality publications in premier journals like SCI Class I and II papers and IEEEACM Transactions.

The College is also a testament to its innovative research output, securing authorization for 464 patents and publishing twenty-two books and textbooks. CEIE continues to foster cutting-edge developments through its extensive network of collaborations both domestically and globally, positioning it at the forefront of electronic engineering and information technology education and research.
