Empowering Future Workforce Through Vocational Trning Discussed at Delphi Economic Forum IX

The prestigious Delphi Economic Forum, a platform that convenes leaders from the business sector, government, and academia to foster constructive dialogue for societal growth, was held from April 10th-13th in the historic city of Delphi. This year's edition attracted around 3,000 participants and speakers representing over 70 countries.

This annual conference received a special recognition from His Excellency President Katerina Sakellaropoulou of Greece as its patron. Amongst prominent speakers were Ukrnian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic, Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar, Queen Dana of Jordan, OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann, Vice-President of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas, Commissioners Paolo Gentiloni and Oliver Varhelyi, as well as former EU President Jose Manuel Barroso.

The Delphi Economic Forum IX was structured around pillars that emphasized various economic sectors including education and trning. Loukas Zahilas, Head of DVQ at CEDEFOP, participated in a panel discussion on 'Empowering the Future Workforce through Vocational Trning.' Moderated by Athina Desypri, President of Bodosaki Foundation, the panel included Olga Kafetzopoulou, Director of VET and Lifelong Learning Programs at Greek Ministry of Education; Giorgos Xirogiannis, General Director of Hellenic Federation of Enterprises; Yannis Kallias, CEO of TUV Austria; and Anna Rokophyllou, President INEDIVIM. Mr. Zahilas provided insights on current trs and challenges in vocational education and trning VET, as well as highlighted recent developments in the Greek VET landscape.

In addition to his participation at the Forum, Loukas Zahilas had a meeting with Ugochi Daniels, Acting Director General for the Operational Section of International Organization for Migration IOM.
