Welcome to #CISFutureReady, our monthly updates from the University Guidance Office U-GO at Canadian International School of Guangzhou. We're excited to provide you with information and professional guidance on all aspects related to university education, ming to help families navigate their way through post-secondary decisions. Our primary goal is to ensure that every High School student at CIS has a comprehensive understanding of the Alberta curriculum during their time here, equipping them for success beyond our school walls and into higher learning.

In this month's spotlight:

For Grade 10 students: Building Academic Profiles

• We are helping students define their academic profiles by identifying their strengths, interests, and career aspirations.

• Students have the opportunity to explore a diverse range of subjects and extracurricular activities to develop well-rounded individuals.

• Guidance is provided on selecting suitable courses for the next two years at CIS.

For Grade 11: Preparing for University Pathway Planning

• The focus shifts toward academic performance, encouraging students to align their studies with future university goals.

• We provide resources and support for researching potential majors and career paths based on students' interests and strengths.

• Students are guided in understanding the requirements of various universities.

For Grade 12: Navigating University Applications

• U-GO is here to assist senior students through the complex process of applying to university.

• Guidance includes selecting suitable universities, understanding their admission criteria, preparing application materials like personal statements and recommation letters, and managing the submission and decision-making stages.

Throughout the year for all grades:

• Ongoing support, workshops, and individual counseling are offered to address academic, career, and university-related concerns.
